Our Pastor

Brother Brian, who is a graduate of Boyce Bible College, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical and Theological Studies. He is presently working toward his Master of Divinity Degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. In addition, he has worked in vocational ministry in various capacities for the past ten years. Since 2007, he has pastored Pigeon Fork Baptist Church in Shelby County. Brian, a strong advocate of missions and evangelism, stated the knowledge of the glory of God should be known among all peoples and that this should be the “heartbeat” of every local congregation. He further emphasized, “I believe this is best achieved by the systematic, expository preaching and teaching of God’s Word, leading God’s people to apply it (the Word) to their everyday lives, which will enable them to effectively be on mission for God.”
Brian was born to and reared by Christian parents in nearby Harlan County. However, when he was a young boy, his family, needing employment after the coal decline, moved to Central KY; and his parents and brother’s family still live there.
Bro. Brian's wife, Melinda, a native of Central Kentucky, grew up on a cattle farm. As the wife of a Southern Baptist Preacher for almost twelve years, Melinda has been equally dedicated to the work of the ministry. She has also taken many classes at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary to equip her for her role as a pastor’s wife. In addition to being a homemaker, she has worked part time as a retail sales associate and later as a full time assistant for mentally challenged adults. She loves gardening, canning, and working with women’s ministry.
